COP on the Hill:

Stories from the week of June 22, 2018

Small Step or Large One?: My most productive 1.5 minutes this week was a conversation with a mid-level staffer in the White House that I have known since 2010. It was in regards to the Gardner/Warren bill called the STATES Act. He is sympathetic to the anti-prohibition message and time will tell if can convince Trump to use his considerable muscle to force a vote. We absolutely have the votes in the House.

Why the UN is Meaningless re: Drug Prohibition: Below is a portion of an article written by an x MI5 agent of the UK. She attended the CND (Commission on Narcotic Drugs) that I also attended in Vienna in 14, 15 and 2016. Recall I stopped going, as I realized it was a waste of time, money and energy… her articulation is much better than mine….full 5 minute report is available on the URL.

“The UN is the sine qua non of bureaucracies, an organization of such Byzantine complexity it makes your eyes bleed to look at it.

Each country around the world funds the UN via voluntary donations. Once they have coughed up, they are allowed to send national delegates to represent “their” interests at shindigs such as the CND. Those delegates are pre-briefed by the bureaucrats about the line they must take, and no dissent is allowed.”

Law Enforcement’s voice in opposition to current policy is vital on the Hill to achieve a repeal of federal prohibition. COP provides that voice. www.citizensopposingprohibition.org
